Teak is the most resistant wood known to humankind.  Teak has natural oils so it does not need to be sealed in any way. Teak is also extremely durable and was used on the decks of warships and submarines.

All of the solid teak furniture is made from plantation teak grown in Costa Rica.  The plantations have been Smartwood certified.  Stainless steel fasteners are used in construction and they will never rust.
